Raised Panels

Raised panels are the most popular look for garage doors across the GTA & Barrie Area. It is classic and timeless yet works with both modern and traditional architecture. The raised panels are made all the more elegant with a highly crafted beveling. The bevel allows these panels to stand alone. However, you can also add your choice of windows to create a more unique look whether you want something slightly more modern, or want to enhance the traditional look of the panels. You can choose between Ranch style with two panels or Traditional with four to eight panels depending on the door size.

Carriage House Panels

Carriage house panels have grown in popularity for customers who want details that add more distinction to their homes. The classic, sophisticated look of the carriage house garage door is reminiscent of the original doors used when cart and buggies were still in fashion. The doors traditionally opened out instead of rolling up like today’s garage doors. Therefore decorative hardware is one of the main characteristics of these very traditional doors. Classic wrought iron handles and hinges add interest to these doors, making them ideal for traditional and historic homes. They work beautifully with or without windows allowing you to manage your budget more efficiently.

Flush Panels

Flush panels create a distinctly modern look ideal if you are looking for an updated design for your garage doors. These panels do not feature framing, and instead are completely smooth. As a result, the look is completely seamless when the doors are closed. It is a very clean design that is attracting a growing number of homeowners who want their home to stand apart from the other homes on the street. However, it is also very vintage, perfectly suited to mid-century modern architecture.

Recessed Panels

Recessed panels consist of a frame surrounding a flat inset. It creates a very neat and tidy look. There is a hint of texture and design that is more prominent than totally flush panels but less defined than the bevel of a raised panel garage door. They lean towards the traditional when several frames are used, and become modernized when framing is limited. They work well with simple window designs to add more interest, or on their own as a contemporary garage door.

Louvered Panels

This is a very “beachy” look, mimicking the doors common on Caribbean islands or coastal towns in Florida. They are highly detailed and include a deep wood grain texture that is quite unique in today’s GTA & Barrie Area neighbourhoods. They have the appearance of shutters, giving the illusion they are vented. However, they are very secure and do not have openings that could increase the risk of pests. If you want to save on the cost of windows, this style is quite detailed so they create interest on their own. However, they also work well with many styles of windows.

Aluminum Full View Panel

This ultra-modern look features framed windows in each panel for maximum light and visibility. It is very distinct and quite sophisticated with additional customizable features including the style of glass you choose. This allows you to modernize your home while maintaining your privacy using frosted or patterned glass. Aluminum full view panels are available in specialty colours including Clear Ionized, White, Bronze and Black for an edgy modern aesthetic.

How Installation Costs are Determined

At Profix, we have a team of skilled technicians who are well-equipped to handle the difficult and complex process of installing new garage doors. We’re able to identify problems quickly and find the best solutions for you.

We pride ourselves on our ability to understand exactly what you’re looking for and offer honest advice. We will always ensure that our recommendations are well-suited to your home and needs and do not result in any unnecessary spending.

Profix can help you understand the different considerations that impact the cost of a garage door, including:

MATERIAL

There are several different materials that can be used for garage door replacements, including steel, aluminum and glass, wood, and composite or faux wood. Steel doors are known for their strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness, making them the most popular choice among homeowners. Aluminum and glass doors offer a more modern look and are lighter in weight than steel doors, but they are not as durable and tend to be more expensive.

Wood garage doors have a classic appeal and are resistant to minor damage, but they are also heavy and may require more maintenance. Composite or faux wood doors offer a wood-like appearance at a lower cost and with less upkeep required. It’s important to consider the weight, durability, and price of each material when choosing a garage door replacement.

SINGLE OR DOUBLE GARAGE DOOR

The cost of a garage door depends on its size and the labour needed to install it. Single garage doors are available in a range of sizes, starting at 7×8 feet, with prices starting at $1,950. Double garage doors start at $2,900 for a 7X16-foot door.

Another factor affecting the price is whether your choose Insulated doors or not. Insulated garage doors have more layers and are better at maintaining a comfortable temperature in your garage. Profix can provide non-insulated, insulated and premium insulated garage doors.

LABOUR

The cost of installing a garage door includes the labour to remove and dispose of the old door and install the new one. The size of the door will also affect the cost, as it takes more work and hardware to install a double door compared to a single door.

If you are replacing an old door, it may be possible to save on the installation costs by reusing some of the existing hardware. A technician from Profix can provide advice on the best options during a free consultation.

ADDITIONAL HARDWARE

The hardware you select can also impact the cost of installing a garage door. Rollers, tracks, cables, springs, and other reinforcements are essential for keeping the door operating smoothly and in good condition.

High-quality hardware provides better support and movement and is less likely to fail, so it is worth considering for this reason. Profix offers competitive pricing for garage door installation; get in touch for a free consultation.
